Assignment #1

Why many people like to see paintings, and go to museums? I think people can see, and feel another worlds through the works. Moreover, they can also communicate with artists and viewers through paintings. That’s why showing express are very important to artists, and understanding their works also important to viewers. However, many people do not take time to see paintings, realize many details, and know how to appreciate paintings.
In my case, I had never been watching one painting for more than two minutes before took this class. I could feel many kinds of expression and intention of paintings. Furthermore, I tried to see this painting from right distance this time, so I could see movements of this painting. Lastly, I tried to catch the reflection of the lights, and frame.

I looked this painting with formal and stylistic analysis ways. Mainly this artist used three kinds of colors in this work and painted flowers. It clearly can tell these flowers are overlap to the other flower, so we can feel distances. Moreover, this painting also has a lot of shadows and lightings. I focused see the edge of painting
, and this work was painted with the object was magnified, so this painting is continued more. Even though many people think that this painting has only 3 colors but the artist used color’s reflections, so I never feel bored to see this painting. Moreover, inside of petal’s color is darker than outside of petal, so I feel dewan into these flowers. I also could feel sharp and smooth at the same time in this painting because the artist painted very different way. Inside of flowers is very sharp and painted with straight angles, and end of petals are very soft and has curve. Thus, I could feel many different ways by appreciating this painting.

In conclusion, I learned basics that how to see and feel works in this section. Lighting of works, flame’s color, Distance, and time to see painting are very important to understand arts. These improved my sight of arts works.
