BP#6

The experience of visiting Galleries in Chelsea is very good. There are so many different types of Contemporary artwork. The Yorgo Aleopoulos and Luhring Augustine galleries are my favorite galleries in that area.
The exhibits in both galleries are media artwork. Yorgo Aleopoulos’ artworks integrate new technologies. He uses high – teach cinema to shoot every place he’s been, then he put his video into his artworks to show the earth’s unspoiled natural beauty. That are two videos of his works, the one is called The Way to the Sea, anther one I cannot find its title. But both of artwork give me a different experience from traditional art because his video does make me feel that they are alive and well in the
 present.

The Way to the Sea

Unknow

In the Luhring Augustine gallery, there only has an exhibit, The Marionette Maker by Janet Cardff and George Bures. Environment of the gallery is dark with music around. The exhibit is a car. Inside of the car have many Marionette, and a woman at the back. There is a video of The Marionette make, as we can see these marionettes are shaking with the rhythm of the music. This gallery is real making feel this is a mysterious and dreamlike place. In addition, this place is kind of making me a little scare, and my friend who went with me, she refused to get inside of the gallery, because she thinks these Marionettes horrible and strange, and the music and dark environment make her more frightened.
